Back in September, we launched a competition to create a piece of artwork to be featured on our first official Howdah Tote Bags. Like our snacks, for each sale of our Howdah tote bags, we will donate FREE school meals to children in need in India!
We love getting our Howdah fans and followers involved in all parts of the business and thought it would be a great opportunity to get creative! The competition was open to all ages and abilities and wow, what a response!
We had so many amazing entries, it was so tough to choose a final winner, however one illustration captured the eyes and hearts of our Howdah HQ...
Congratulations Lorna Irwin! Lorna is the artist behind this beautiful illustration , which we thought represented Howdah perfectly. We loved the overall composition, the way Lorna captured the joy on the children's faces and the intricate detail throughout the design. This transferred perfectly as our tote bag design!
We had a quick chat with Lorna about the inspiration behind her design and how the lockdowns inspired her to get out her sketch book again!
Why did you decide to enter our competition?
I love all things elephant, which is what drew me to try Howdah snacks after seeing the fantastic packaging. During lockdown(s) I’d picked up my art book again and started doodling to pass time, then I went back to work and hurt my back! I was limited with what I could do so when I saw the competition I was totally absorbed for a few hours and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Where does you love of art and illustration come from?
Well done Lorna!
